Shipping Policy

Merritt Wines cannot arrange the shipment of wine, beer or liquor to the following states: Alabama, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Utah.

Merritt Wines may arrange shipment on your behalf to AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, ID, IL, IA, KS, LA, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, RI, SC, SD, TX, VA, VT, WA, WI, WV, WY. Contact us via e-mail or phone (203-847-1113) for more information.

YOU MUST BE 21 YEARS OF AGE TO PURCHASE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES! There are 3 options for on-line purchasing from Merritt Wines: 1) you may pick up your products at our store location at 430 Main Avenue in Norwalk, Connecticut, (please wait for phone or e-mail confirmation that your order is ready), 2) you can receive local delivery (minimum orders and other restrictions apply), or 3) you can ship your products to yourself or to whomever you wish to via common carrier, provided that the recipient is at least 21 years old. Proof of age is required at the time of delivery.

Willfully misrepresenting your age or the age of the recipient is a crime in most states, and if you willfully misrepresent your age or the age of the recipient, we will cooperate with authorities to prosecute you to the fullest extent of the law.

Please bring personal identification and the credit card you used to make the purchase with you when you come to pick up your order.

Most orders are processed within 3-5 business days. Please allow up to 5 additional business days for UPS delivery. On occasion, items in limited supply will be placed on backorder and we will notify you by e-mail when they become available. Merritt Wines does not ship on major holidays and weekends. We do not ship any alcoholic beverages to PO Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or internationally.

All items are sold from our licensed location in Norwalk, Connecticut. Title of the goods then passes to the buyer. We make no representation to the legal rights of anyone to ship into any state outside of Connecticut. The buyer is solely responsible for the shipment. By placing an order, you authorize us to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier to ship your order to your selected designation.

Our clientele is reminded that various states impose limitations on the quantity of alcoholic beverages, which may be purchased and brought into their jurisdiction by a purchaser from another state without requiring the purchaser, a seller or shipper to possess certain licenses or permits. Merritt Wines does not, as a condition of sale, assume any obligation nor bear any responsibility whatsoever for applying or obtaining any permits or licenses. Therefore, we recommend that you investigate the possibility of such limitations and determine the manner in which alcoholic beverages shall be brought into your state from Connecticut so as to comply with all of your state's requirements.

Should any product be damaged during shipping, please call or e-mail us promptly, so we can assist you in pursuing a claim with the shipping company.

Merrit Wines wants you to enjoy your purchase. If you receive a product that is not to your satisfaction, please contact us within 30 days of receiving your order.
