Color: Intense and dark, inky purple with deep purple shades.

Nose: Powerful, rich aromas of jammy red and black fruits and berries. Meaty qualities of bacon fat balanced against spice & floral qualities towards the end with framing notes of nutmeg and vanilla from the well integrated oak. Overall, very complex and attractive.

Palate: Concentrated & very well balanced with soft, velvety tannins lingering in the mouth. Very rich mid palate and a long finish. Goes very well with rich red meat such as lamb, beef and wild boar.

Wine Advocate The 2004 Syrah “Cuvee Alexandre - Las Kuras Vineyard” is a purple-colored wine with an excellent nose of smoke, bacon and blueberry. On the palate the fruit is sweet, ripe, and supple with plenty of layered flavors. It has very good depth and a pure, lengthy finish. There is enough structure for several years of evolution. This winery is getting very good results from its high-end Syrah, as evidenced by this jammy, dark wine that’s charred, toasty and loaded with the essentials. Drink now or hold for a couple of years.
