Cadence Winery Tapteil 2004
This is big. It begins with aromas of blueberries, spice, and dusty minerality. It grows into flavors of currant and black fruit, spice, and minerals. It continues to build into a broad finish of tooth coating tannins. The wine doesn’t want to end, but persists on and on. Wine Spectator Polished, open-textured and refined, this is generous with its red currant, raspberry, black cherry and dusky spice aromas and flavors. The supple texture and graceful structure make this a winner. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc. Drink now through 2014. 350 cases made. Score: 93. —Harvey Steiman, May 15, 2007.Wine Enthusiast Soft, spicy and complex, but also muscular; this Cabernet-driven Bordeaux blend may be the most complex of Cadence’s three vineyard-designates. The wine has more heat and power than the other two, and I love the way the spice kicks in. There is considerable toasty and coffee flavor in it as well; all wrapped into a lush and harmonious, smooth and contiguous whole. Score: 93. —Paul Gregutt, March 01, 2007. |
